Research and academic life
We encourage Visiting Fellows to take full advantage of the University's research environment and opportunities for academic exchange.
The Centre brings together researchers working across periods and disciplines, from ancient Greece through the Byzantine and medieval worlds to modern and contemporary Greek Studies.
During your visit, you may wish to:
- Attend the Centre's Greek Dialogues seminars and other CCGS events.
- Explore relevant lectures, research seminars and workshops organised by Cambridge faculties, departments and research centres.
- Meet researchers whose interests connect with your own work.
- Develop opportunities for future research collaboration.
Where appropriate, arrangements for Fellows to present their research or participate in Centre activities will be discussed individually.
Life in Cambridge
Beyond its academic resources, Cambridge offers an extensive programme of cultural activities, museums, galleries, music, public lectures and opportunities to explore the city and surrounding area.
The University's Newcomers and Visiting Scholars organisation offers activities, social events and practical support to help visiting academics and their families settle into Cambridge.
Newcomers and Visiting Scholars
This can be a particularly useful resource for Fellows visiting Cambridge for the first time.
Before you leave
As your Fellowship approaches its conclusion, please ensure that any outstanding financial claims have been submitted in accordance with your award arrangements, and that any University property or access cards requiring return have been dealt with.
We also welcome news of publications, research developments and collaborations arising from your time in Cambridge.
The connections established through the Lewis-Gibson Visiting Fellowship programme are an important part of the Centre's wider international research community, and we hope they will continue well beyond your visit.
