Biography

Dr George Kalpadakis (UCL, LSE, Athens) is a Senior Researcher at the Academy of Athens (KEINE). His research centers on Southeast Europe, foreign policy and institution-building, on which he has lectured at the universities of Crete and Thrace (2010-18). He has been a visiting researcher at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University (Fulbright Scholar, 2021-22) and at the Centre of Development Studies at the University of Cambridge (Visiting Scholar, 2015–17). His monographs include The Macedonian Question, 1962-1995. From silence to popular diplomacy (2013 - Academy of Athens Award), The Cyprus conflict, 1954–1974. Judicious integration and the perennial diligiannism (2021) and The Balkan confederation of Ioannis Kapodistrias (2023).
