About: 

Dr Giannakopoulou completed a BA in Greek philology at the University of Athens. She carried out her postgraduate studies in Paris VII-Jussieu, where she obtained a DEA in Formal and Theoretical Linguistics, and at King’s College London, where she conducted research for her PhD in Modern Greek Studies, specialising on visual arts and literature. Before coming to Cambridge, she was a member of the Departments of Modern Greek Studies and Comparative Literature at King’s College London where she taught modern Greek prose fiction and poetry, Cretan Renaissance drama and methods in comparative literature.

Recent research projects: 

Dr Giannakopoulou is currently working on a book length study on the topic of myth in the poetry of Katerina Anghelaki-Rooke.
